Three different kinds of information
The room itself

The venue experience
Service, check-in, lobby, cleanliness, parking, access and professionalism.
How the game operates
Private/public booking, duration, player count, live actors and other verified facts.
The review team
Members of the anonymous expert review team have each completed hundreds of escape rooms in countries around the world. Reviewer names, individual scores, reviewer count and the number of submissions behind a public score are not displayed.
Game Rating categories
| Category | Weight |
|---|---|
| Puzzles & Gameplay | 20% |
| Immersion / Set Design | 20% |
| Flow & Pacing | 15% |
| Originality | 15% |
| Story / Theme Integration | 10% |
| Overall Experience | 20% |
Overall Experience
Overall Experience considers the complete experience of playing the game, including overall enjoyment, memorability, private versus shared play, game-master interaction as it affects the game, hint delivery, group experience, unexpected frustrations and the overall feeling of the experience.
Facility Rating
Facility Rating is a separate overall expert score for the venue experience. It can consider staff and service, check-in, lobby and facility quality, cleanliness, bathrooms, parking and access, professionalism and the overall venue experience. Public pages do not display separate facility sub-scores, and Facility Rating is never blended into Game Rating.
Descriptive attributes are not quality scores
Difficulty, scare level, private or shared status, group size, live actors, duration, location and price are descriptive attributes. They help players choose an appropriate experience, but they are not separate quality-score categories.
How scores are produced
Reviewers submit structured category scores. Submissions remain pending until an administrator approves them. Approved category scores are weighted using the percentages above, combined with other approved submissions for the same active game, and displayed to one decimal place. Unrated games are shown as Not Yet Rated rather than receiving an estimated or placeholder score.
